Sharing Is Caring Tour Launches

Posted on July 7, 2010 by Phil Bowyer

Beginning today, Phibble will launch a site that allows fans to download a song, book or video. You don't have to enter an email address, or any other personal information. All you need to do is click on the download link and get your goodie. The catch? Well, we only make it available for a short time each day, and at a different time every day, so it's easy to miss out on the action.

However, if you follow @sharingiscaring on Twitter, you'll get a heads up to go to the site and get whatever is up for freebie that day.

The goal of the tour is to bring awareness to the very talented independent artists out there who aren't on a major label, publisher or big production company. I participated in a discussion on LinkedIn a couple of weeks ago that was about if free downloads were hurting the music industry. I was surprised by the amount of people who were against the idea of giving away freebies. It's a great sales and awareness tool that has been used in other industries for years. Sometimes getting the "free sample" can make or break a sale and that's what we're doing here. You can't decide if you like an artist until you listen to/read/watch their work.

Our first freebie (mp3) is by a collaborative effort called "11Teen". The song is titled "Alone Again". We hope everyone enjoys the song and is encouraged to support the artist in any way they can.

Artists who would like to be featured on the SIC tour, should visit the Phibble For Artists page.
